Craftsteader's Notebook

Explore Fiber Arts

Spinning, Knitting, Weaving, Carding, Dyeing & More

Curiosity and experimentation have been my mentor ever since I picked up a pair of knitting needles, and later when I learned to spin. Not satisfied with conventional wisdom, I test what I read or learn in a workshop. This blog chronicles those experiments. My latest venture is learning to weave, which has opened a whole new world of enjoyment and frustration.
This website is here to provide instruction and inspiration to all involved in the fiber crafts, and especially for those interested in all phases of producing lovely woolens from the fleece in a home workshop.  It is for the crafter looking for some practical advice and useful tips.
